Obesity: Obesity can cause excessive load to the SI joint leading to dysfunction*
Features & Benefits
- Specifically designed to avoid the most common complication in SI fusion procedures, foraminal impingement
- Available in multiple diameters & length offerings, composed of Titanium alloy with partial hydroxyapatite coating
- Only Lateral SI System on the market that engages the cortical walls of the ilium and sacrum for true joint compression
- Bone decortication during procedural steps helps promote joint fusion
- Implant fixation, compression and fusion may reduce hypermobility of the SI Joint*
- Single lateral surgical approach used with 1 implant (2nd implant optional) may reduce risk of Superior Gluteal Artery injury compared to multiple implant systems
Research & Data
- It is estimated that SI joint dysfunction is the underlying etiology for 15 to 30% of patients suffering from chronic low-back pain*
- Randomized clinical trials support sacroiliac arthrodesis for treating SI joint dysfunction in carefully selected patients who previously failed conservative measures*
- SI Joint arthrodesis has been shown to be an effective way of reducing pain, increasing* quality of life and reducing opioid use
- Patients undergoing minimally invasive surgery report better pain relief compared with those receiving open surgery at 12 months postoperatively*
